As we all know, the speed of replacement of LED spotlight products is staggering. The development of LED spotlight lenses is also advancing by leaps and bounds. But on the whole, the most concerned about the market is the visualization effect and the overall lighting effect of the lamp. For this reason, the design of the lens should meet three requirements: one is the novelty of the lens shape; the other is the effective light transmittance of the lens; The third is the visualization effect of the lens and the luminaire. The first type of lens sidewall surface adopts free-form surface design, the low-gloss compound eye bead surface, the light-emitting angle is adjustable from 250 to 600, and generally uses PC material, which can be used for COB light source spotlight with a maximum light-emitting surface diameter of 14 mm, and its optical effective transmittance. The maximum can reach 94%.
The second type of lens adopts an outer straight scale, and the center of the illuminating surface is designed with a compound eye. The third type of lens uses an external free-form surface, a low-gloss surface, and a glazing surface.
The second and third types of lenses are generally made of PC material, and have high temperature resistance. The light source can be modularized by a patch light source or a COB light source, and the light output angle is adjustable from 300 to 600, and the light output is uniform. In the case of external vision, the modular patch light source can be broken up by the compound eye surface, and the visual effect is COB-based, which expands the selectivity of the light source.
In addition, with the high-end demand of the market and the cost of the luminaire manufacturer, a lens with a variety of light source design is also the focus of LED lens designers. The reasonable selection of the compound eye bead and the outer scale on the spotlight lens not only makes the overall visual effect of the lamp beautiful, but also can effectively solve the frequent design problems of different light sources matching different lenses, and saves a lot of lamps manufacturers. The design time can effectively shorten the development time of the luminaire.
It can be seen that the lens design of LED directional lighting has gradually moved toward aesthetics and sharing. How to improve the effective transmittance, uniformity and commonality of directional lens will become the mainstream of design.
